Anticipation has been high among fans since organizers announced that the popular reality TV show Big Brother Naija will be making the return for its 7th season. Now the organizers have announced the start date for BBNaija Season 7 to be Saturday the 23rd of July.

As with last season’s Shine Ya Eye, Season 7 which is yet without its unique tag name will also have two live launch shows, first on the 23rd of July and then on the 24th of July. The live shows will air across major African Magic channels including Showcase, Urban, and Family accessible to both DSTV and GoTV users.

The organizers of the show unveiled the launch date at an event held in Lagos which had in attendance a number of its alum including last season’s winner Whitemoney, his housemates JMK, and Jaypaul. Stars from previous seasons in attendance were Seyi Awolowo, Frodd, Esther, Venita, and Vandora.

The organizers revealed that they sieved through 40,000 applicants to arrive at the final selection of housemates who will be competing for the big prize for 72 days in Big Brother’s house.

Season 7’s Grand Prize has been upped to an unprecedented N100 million including a cash prize of N50 million.

Fans will see a return of pre-COVID elements such as the beloved Big Brother Ninjas and a live audience in attendance for its Sunday live eviction shows. Also, the fave lock-in promo for fans is also back giving 30 fans the opportunity to win N1 million each.

The voting system for last season will be maintained. Voting is restricted to the DSTV and GOTV apps, the official website of Africa Magic as well as the mobile site. The number of votes available to each subscriber will be determined by their DSTV/GOTV package, the higher the package they’re on, the more votes they can cast for their favorite stars. There will be no voting via SMS.

Big Brother Naija Season 7’s headline sponsor is Pocket by Piggyvest while Flutterwave is back for yet another stint as an associate sponsor.

Davido pays N2 million per haircut – Singer’s Barber Reveals

Nigerian afrobeats superstar Davido Adeleke, popularly known as Davido, pays as much as N2 million every time he gets a haircut, according to his long-term barber, Kufre Nnah.

Kufre made the revelation in a social media post, in which he shared a picture of himself working on Davido’s hair.

The Barber, who runs his business as Kayz Place, also revealed that he’s been Davido’s Barber since he was 12, when he used to pay only N200 to get a haircut.

Disclosing that Davido now pays him N2 million per haircut, Kufre admired the singer and appreciated him for being a part of his journey over the years.

Kufre’s post, which also had pictures showing Davido’s haircut up close, was captioned:

“I started cutting Davido’s hair when he was just 12 years old, when he used to pay me 200 Naira. Today, he’s paying 2 million for a haircut…what a journey! So proud to have been part of his story from the beginning. Big thanks to you, brothe,r for trusting me all these years. Your success is truly inspiring.”

Recall that earlier this weekend, on Saturday, Davido was out showing up for another long-term associate, his manager Asa Asika, at his traditional wedding where he was on groomsmen duties.

In his heartfelt speech at the ceremony held in Lagos, Davido recounted how he and Asa worked hard together to build their music empire from absolutely nothing.

Davido hailed Asa for being more than just his manager, saying he’s his ‘shield,’ his sanity, and his brother in every battle.

Wizkid Cancels multiple North America dates on ‘Morayo’ Tour, Sparking Online Debate

Nigerian superstar Wizkid has cancelled several dates on the North American leg of his much-anticipated ‘Morayo’ world tour, sparking concern among fans and insiders alike.
The cancelled shows include major venues such as:

June 5 – State Farm Arena, Atlanta

June 7 – Madison Square Garden, New York

June 11 – Scotiabank Arena, Ontario, Canada

June 15 – CFG Bank Arena, Baltimore
